Facilitating Career Development (FCD), formerly titled Career Development Facilitator (CDF) is comprised of 120 hours of course work and provides individuals with the relevant skills and knowledge needed to assist others in planning careers and obtaining meaningful work. Professionals who successfully complete this 12 competency program are eligible to apply for national certification as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) through the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE), a subsidiary of the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). The National Career Development Association (NCDA) is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA).

Our one-on-one discussions will occur in a password-protected learning area. Group discussions will occur on Facebook. The group discussions on Facebook are optional.

The program consists of reading a textbook, responding to discussion questions, viewing videos, visiting websites, reviewing resources, completing projects relevant to you and your target audience as well as participating in conversations using interactive web tools, webinars, and video conferencing (no travel required).

What is Facilitating Career Development (FCD) Training?

Facilitating Career Development training can enhance the skills and knowledge of individuals who work in any type of career development setting. The FCD curriculum provides training in each of the 12 career development competencies and there is plenty of opportunities to build skills and knowledge in areas that are new to you, as well as enhance and develop those that you use every day.

The in-depth training requires 120 hours provided by Linda Sollars, MA, GCDFi, a nationally trained and qualified instructor. Each participant receives 3 career development best-selling books, 5 assessments, and access to a custom website with hands-on and interactive teaching methods.

Upon completing this training, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion which is required when applying for a credential from the National Career Development Association and/or the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification through CCE-global , depending on education and experience.

FCD graduates serve as career specialists, professional career coaches, academic advisors, career development trainers and instructors, career and development program managers, career group facilitators, independent career consultants, job search trainers, career resource professionals, human resource career development coordinators, and mental health practitioners, among others.
